Lazy Saturday Morning

I'm done with all my household chores and it's only 10:00 in the morning. I don't have anything to do except for the gelatin I'm going to make later in the afternoon.

It's only my father and I left in the house because both my brothers are at work today.

With both of my siblings gone, I have the desktop computer all to myself. I have a laptop but we don't have a router yet so its only the desktop that have internet connection. With only one computer with internet connection, the three of us would always have limited time with our internet use.

And because they are both not here, I can surf and watch all the videos I want on the computer today. Yey!

Just took a little break to post this one while waiting for the videos to be uploaded.

I wish everyone a happy weekend!

Ice Cream Treat

This week has been a pleasant one, no stress and pressure from work.

To celebrate a wonderful week, I passed by Dairy Queen before going home to treat myself with a cup of ice cream.

DQ's Blizzard for the month which they labeled as love at first bite are Double Chocolate Almond and White Almond Truffle.

I wanted to try the Blizzard of the month and it was a tough choice for me but I ended up with White Almond Truffle.

It was truly a love at first bite for me when I tasted White Almond Truffle. The soft creamy vanilla ice cream is loaded with almonds and white truffles. Yummy!

A cup of White Almond Truffle is a perfect way to end a beautiful week!

On School Lockers

My office is a few blocks away from the main road so I walk everyday to my work place. The location of my office is near a public elementary school so I always find myself walking along throngs of school kids on their way to school.

Most of the elementary students carry heavy bags loaded with books, notebooks and other school materials.

I pity the small kids carrying heavy loads to school that I wonder if they don’t have school cabinets or lockers where they can leave some school materials that will not be needed for homework.

I remembered that in the school where I attended elementary, we have school cabinets or Wood Lockers where we can leave our work books that we don’t have assignments on. Students in higher grade level where given the privilege of renting their own School Lockers where they can have a personal storage space to leave their belongings.

I share my Locker with another classmate so that if I ever forget to bring the key of our locker I can still open it because my classmate will have a spare key. It’s just funny because most of the time the students have the tendency to misplace their locker keys so the school janitor is busy dismantling the padlocks on the lockers.

Oh well, it’s just something that I remembered while going to work this morning. :)

On TV

While I was taking a bath at about 5:30 am, our phone rang. In my thought I was thinking who could it be? Usually phone calls at that time of the day means that there is a family emergency.

It turned out that it was my aunt, my father's sister, informing us to tune in at "Unang Hirit, " a local morning show over at GMA 7 because my cousin and her husband's jewelry shop will be featured in the show. Last year also, their shop was featured and it was about the latest in trend when it comes to wedding rings.

When I left for work, the segment about the jewelry shop is still not shown. I hope they upload the video later in facebook or in youtube so I can watch it.

A few months back "Unang Hirit" was supposed to do a feature about my boyfriend's surplus shop but my boyfriend is camera shy so he declined the offer. He don't want to be seen on television. Even when it comes to taking pictures, he wants to be the one taking pictures instead of being the subject of the picture.

I even jokingly told him that if he doesn't want to do the interview, I can do it for him because the show will generate buzz about the shop. But the problem with me being interviewed was I don't really know anything about the shop's operation; I may not be able to answer the interviewer's question. :)

I'm just happy for my cousin and her husband because their shop was featured again, I hope people will visit their shop so that they will have more clients.

Birthday Menu

Two weeks from now and it's already my birthday!

I'm thinking of what menu to prepare for my birthday. I want to cook for my loved ones on my special day.

Bf said that he will help me with the food preparation and volunteered to grill some steaks for my birthday.

I'm still thinking of what other viands to prepare that will go well with the beef steaks my bf will cook.

Any suggestions?

Our Mechanic

My dad has an owner type jeep but he doesn't drive it anymore because he has problems with his left leg. My two sibling doesn't know how to drive and doesn't know anything about automobiles. My father relies on my boyfriend in bringing out the vehicle once a week. Bf checks if its still working fine. My boyfriend knows how to repair some car problems. He knows when it needs to be oil changed and when the head gasket needs to be replaced.

Our owner jeep is already old but I just can't let go of it for its sentimental reasons. It was the first vehicle my father and mother bought together. If ever we will have a Honda Civic or another type of car in the future, I will still not sell our owner jeep. It is filled with so much memories of our family outings.

I'm just grateful that bf is around to help my dad in maintaining our car. He may not be really an expert mechanic compared to the best mechanics working in Los Angeles auto repair shops but he still is our ever reliable on hand mechanic.

My New Recruits

One of my new year's resolutions is to be more physically fit. It is my goal to enter a marathon this year.

I have been running five days a week and on Sundays I do more running compared to the other days.

Last Sunday, my brothers, my brother's gf and my bf went with me to the Quezon City Circle for exercise.

My bf and I went running while the rest were on Taebo exercises.

I discovered that there are Tai-chi sessions at the park and I'm planning to learn how Tai-chi is done.

It really feel good to exercise and to shed off the excess pounds. My brothers are excited to be back at the circle next week and my bf will run for the rest of the week at the Marikina Sports Complex.

I feel good that I inspire them to be physically fit.

Pirates of the Caribbean 4 : On Stranger Tides

To all Pirates of Caribbean fans, Pirates of the Caribbean 4 will be shooting soon in Hawaii and will be shown in 2011.

Johnny Depp who plays Captain Jack Sparrow and Geoffrey Rush who is Barbossa in the last three movies will return to the set of the "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides." But Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley will no longer be back for the fourth installment.

Missing also in Pirates 4 is the original director Gore Verbinski, who will be replaced by "Nine" and "Chicago" director Rob Marshall.

Without Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley and Director Gore Verbinski let's see how "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" will fare in the box office.

My Dream Vacation

December, January and February are my favorite months. December because of the Christmas Season, January because it marks a new year, a new beginning and February because it's my birth month. And the one thing common between these three months is the cold weather we have.

I enjoy the cold weather! I like the cold breeze as it brushes against my cheeks. I love the warmth a jacket or a comforter brings to me.

And I'm happy because I still have until next month to enjoy the cold weather we have now.

In March, the weather will become dry and hot. With the temperature rising, you just have to turn on the airconditioning unit to escape the unbearable heat or better yet head out to the beach.

As early as now, my siblings and I are already planning where to head out our summer vacation.

If we have enough budget it would be wonderful if we could head out to the Atlantic Ocean. A vacation at the Myrtle Beach would be fun.

While surfing the net, looking for Myrtle Beach Accomodations, The Horizon at 77th resort caught my attention. This Myrtle Beach Hotel is perfect for the myrtle beach accomodation I am looking for. The resort is at the heart of the myrtle beach, beach lovers are just a few feet away from the ocean, it has a lot of beautiful private suites and it offers a lot of amenities including a golf course. Golf enthusiast will really enjoy their stay at the The Horizon at 77th resort.

As early as now I'm already dreaming of my summer vacation.

Shoe Shopping

Yehey! It’s Friday once again!

Another work week is about to end.

But I can’t wait for five in the afternoon to come. After work, I’m heading to the mall for shoe shopping.

While eating breakfast, my father asked me what I wanted for my birthday which is still three weeks from now and I told him I want a new pair of flat shoes.

Because the shoes were on sale and I’m not sure if it will be on sale still after three weeks, I asked him if he could give the money to me so I can buy it already and of course my papa readily agreed.

I’m so happy because I'm going to get the new pair of shoes I’ve been eyeing since last week.

Thank you, Papa!

Someone Tried To Sneak In

This got me really worried last night.

Bf called me last night and told me someone tried to forcibly open his surplus shop last Tuesday night.

His neighbors told him that around 11:30 pm, they saw five men roaming around the vicinity of the shop.

Bf stays at the shop because their house in Antipolo City is far from his place of work. There is a room at the far end of the shop that serves as his living quarters. He said he heard some noise that night but due to exhaustion, he dismissed the commotion.

I feared for his safety because what if those five men where able to enter the shop, they could have hurt him.

He told me that additional locks have been installed at the shop. And that matter has been reported to the proper authorities.

I am just grateful that nothing bad happened to him and I pray that no similar incident will happen in the near future.

Home Improvements

Each year my siblings and I think of house projects to improve and beautify our house.

Two years ago, we had the flooring on the first floor of our house changed to granite tiles. Last year we had our house repainted and the ceiling of our garage fixed.

This year, I'm thinking of changing the flooring of the second floor of our house to wood parquet. It would be lovely too if we could have window box planters with many flowering plants outside of our windows. The planters would make our house look more attractive.

Another project, I'm thinking of is improving our small backyard and having a garden herbs growing in a garden planter.

Let's see, which among these home improvements will be accomplished this year.

A Dollar Gift From Paypal

Yey!

When I checked my email this morning, I got a message from paypal informing me that they are already in the process of transferring into my account the dollar I got from their promo last December.

All I did for paypal is to sign up at their paypal wish list and I earned a dollar already. I could have earned more if I was able to sign up my friends who are facebook users to join the wish list too. Every friend who signed up the paypal wish list will earn me a dollar.

I know that it is not a big amount but still a dollar is a dollar and the task I did for them wasn’t that difficult.

Thank you paypal! I hope to hear more promos from you!

Happy For Bf

The last quarter of 2009 has been difficult for my bf (boyfriend).

When Typhoon Ondoy ravaged the country in September his surplus shop which is located in Marikina (one of the hardest hit areas) was submerged in flood water and many of the items on sale were destroyed.

While he was in the process of rebuilding his business, the owner of the place he was renting for his shop sold the land to another person without informing his tenants. Bf was only given a week to transfer to another location.

It was a good thing that there was a place a few meters from the shop’s former location that was available for rent only a few days before the deadline.

Stressed from the business transfer and the loss in profit because of the flood, he became very sick. The doctors’ initial diagnosis was leptospirosis because during the height of Typhoon Ondoy, he waded in the flood water to salvage his motorcycle that was swept away by the flood water.

I was so grateful when his laboratory results came out and indicated that it was not leptospirosis but viral infection.

The first month of 2010 has been kind to him. Yesterday, he excitedly told me that his business is really picking up. He was able to recover from his business losses last year and he has regular customers visiting his shop already.

I am so happy for him, I pray that 2010 will truly be a fruitful year for him!

Going Online

Yesterday afternoon, my boyfriend and I placed some ads on a free online advertisement site. We featured some of the items for sale at his surplus shop in Marikina.

A few hours after putting up the ads, our phone started ringing with calls from clients inquiring about the advertisements.

I'm just amused because they called up our house when in the ads I gave boyfriend's shop location and contact numbers.

I have to check those ads again so that all the calls will be directed to the shop.

I'm just happy because through that site, my boyfriend was able to close a deal already.

I told my boyfriend that the simple ad on the internet produces a sale for his shop.If we could put up our own website for the shop we could attract more clients.

I'm thinking of putting a website that shows the items on sale at his shop, their is an online survey that will help us know the clients preferences and we could send out an email newsletter to the customers to keep them up to date with all the items on sale.

With all my plans for the website and its emarketing side, I know I can rely on the services of iContact. iContact can provide me with the necessary email marketing software, newsletter software and online survey tool for the website. iContact is perfect for small business like that of my boyfriend's because of its affordability.

I'm so excited putting a new website for my boyfriend's surplus shop!

My Sunday

I woke up early to do my jogging at the Quezon City Memorial Circle. After three rounds of running at the oval tracks of the park, it started to drizzle. I ran towards the shaded area of the circle and waited for the rain to stop.

I was beginning to feel disappointed that it started to rain because I don’t want to go home yet if the rain continues to fall but I realized we needed the rain since the La Mesa Dam is running short of water.

While waiting for the rain to stop, I amused myself by watching the badminton players still playing in the court despite the rain.

Fortunately in a few minutes, the rain halted so I was back on track once again. It feels good to be running and sweating off the excess fat. To cool myself down after the extensive running I did, I walked around the park, observing the scenery and the people.

When I got home, my siblings were still eating their breakfast, when they inquire where I have been, they said they wanted to join me next week at the Quezon Memorial Circle for exercise. Let’s see if they can wake up early on a Sunday morning. :)

While my brothers were preparing our lunch and waiting for my boyfriend to arrive, I posted some ads for my boyfriend’s shop and checked my emails.

When my boyfriend arrived we went to supermarket for grocery shopping.

Lunch was really yummy! We had grilled pork belly and ensaladang talong. What makes Sunday lunch extra special is the family is complete and boyfriend is with us.

Right after clearing the table, boyfriend and I made Spaghetti for our afternoon snack. It was really delicious and meaty.

The rest of the afternoon was spent watching dvd at home, chatting with loved ones, having bonding moments with the special people I love.

And that is why I love Sundays! How was your Sunday?

Sunday at the Quezon City Circle

I woke up at 5:00 am on a Sunday morning because I went to the Quezon City Circle for jogging. I used to religiously go to this park every Sunday four years ago for the free Taebo session.

Four years ago, people who wants to visit the park needs to cross the huge Elliptical Road to get to the QC Circle; even if there is a someone manning the road to safeguard the people crossing the park, you still have to run to get to the other side because there are a lot of fast vehicles going through that road.

I am happy to discover that the Quezon City Circle underpass that connects the City Hall to the park is already opened. There is now a safer way to go to the park.

The newly constructed underpass is well-lit and there are security guards in the area. Pedestrians don't need to run anymore to reach the park, they can now do it leisurely as they gaze through the photo exhibit being shown at the underpass.

The photo exhibit shows the evolution of the City, the vision of President Manuel L Quezon, the early structures that was established in the city, the past mayors of the city, the completed and the future projects of the city.

After four years of not visiting the Quezon City Circle, I'm just glad that there has been a lot of improvements that Mayor Belmonte has done to the park. There is a newly constructed playground for the kids which is really huge; it can surely accommodate a lot of kids. There is a small amusement park with rides, newly built comfort rooms, covered basketball courts, badminton courts and food courts.

Mayor Belmonte's vision for the Quezon City circle is to make it truly a National Park and Shrine for the people of Quezon City.

I hope that when the term of Mayor Belmonte ends ( he is now running for Congressman), the next mayor will continue the legacy of Mayor Belmonte of making the Quezon City Circle a true landmark of the city.

Happy Saturday

Today is a Happy Day!

I'm happy because my Aunt Eling, Uncle Tykes and my cousin Jackielou visited our house this morning. They all came from Pampanga and are here in Quezon City to accompany my aunt for her medical check up at the Philippine Heart Center. Aunt Eling is the one who brought the sugpo at our house last Tuesday.

I'm happy because our family hasn't seen them for years and their visit gave us a chance to bond with one another. My Aunt is the sister of my late mother, she and my Uncle Tykes will be celebrating on January 26 their 41st wedding anniversary! My Uncle will take my Aunt to Tagaytay for their anniversary date! How sweet is that.

I'm happy because when I checked my blog it has fifty one followers already. Yey! When I put that google widget, I did not think that their will be people interested in following my blog. Thank you to all those who sign up to follow my blog.

I'm happy because when I checked the live traffic feed of this blog I have lots of visitors from different countries who checked this blog through my Help Haiti Victims, Donate Thru Paypal post. I'm grateful that through that post I was able to help people get the information they need to help the earthquake victims of Haiti. The donations course through the Save the Children charity will be able to bring aid to the victims.

If you want to donate through your paypal just click the link above.

Help Haiti Victims, Donate Thru Paypal

Since yesterday I've been surfing the internet looking for ways to help the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

I was looking for a legitimate organization to donate to using my paypal account.

Good thing though that I was led to the paypal community where I found an easy way to help the victims specially the children.

Paypal is partnering with the Save the Children charity to raise money for the people affected by the disaster.

Save the Children charity has been working in Haiti since 1985.

So please if you have a paypal account, click this link to Save the Children's Haiti Emergency Fund and make a donation to help the Haiti people.

Sad Stories in the Evening News

Yesterday was supposed to be a special day for me but it did not turn out the way I expected it to be. I was really disappointed and went to sleep with a very heart.

When I woke up this morning, getting up from bed, I find myself reflecting on all that happened yesterday and I realized that it wasn't that bad, it just failed short from my expectations. Then my mind drifted to the evening news I watched last night, my experience yesterday wasn't as heartbreaking as those that the people in Haiti are going through due to the earthquake or as hard as what the fire victims in Paco are experiencing right now.

The devastating earthquake that rocked Haiti affected at least two million people and hundreds of people are feared to be death. Some members of the Philippine contingent to the United Nations Peacekeeping Corps in Haiti are still missing.

Here in the National Capital Region of the country, two thousand families are left homeless when a fire razed through two baranggays in Paco, Manila yesterday. The fire lasted for four hours and spread fast due to the strong winds and because the houses were made from light materials..

So from feeling disappointed, I find myself feeling sad for the victims and instead of feeling sad for myself, I find myself praying for the victims.

Let us pray for the victims and help them in whatever way we can.

Online Math Help

When I was in grade school, math was my favorite subject but somewhere along the way I developed a dislike for it and I started struggling with my math subjects and that is why I took a science course. Little did I know that in the field of medical technology which I majored in college, there are a lot of math subjects to be studied and there are chemistry subjects also which involves a lot of mathematical computations.

I wish that online math help like that provided by tutor vista was already available during my time; perhaps I would not have any trouble passing my math subjects. With online math help I can have an online math tutoring at the convenience of my own home at any time I want. How convenient could that be and I am assured that I get personal tutoring from the experts.

Online math help is available from grade school, high school all the way to college. College math tutoring is available to help students in their calculus, algebra, trigonometry and other subjects.

Before you take any online math tutoring you can avail first of the free online math tutoring and see if their program is suited for you. You may try the free online tutoring anytime and try having a free online math tutor.

If an online math tutoring is available for students than students don’t need to have a difficult time with there math they could even ace their math subjects too.

Yummy Sugpo Prawns

I came home yesterday to a pleasant surprise! We had sugpo for dinner. Yum!

These big prawns came from my Aunt Eling who dropped by our house yesterday. It just sad that our family wasn’t around to thank her for her delicious present because my dad was at the hospital for his check-up and my sibling and I were at work. But I get to express my gratitude to her through the phone.

My aunt told me that if they had a bigger container she would have wanted to bring tilapia (St. Peter’s Fish) too. My aunt who’s based in Pampanga has ponds that culture sugpo and tilapia.

We have sugpo that will last for days! And I wouldn’t mind. I haven’t checked how much a kilo this kind of prawn cost but I know that it’s pricey!

I’m looking forward to all the appetizing dishes my father will prepare from these sugpo; I’m thinking of Siningang na Sugpo (prawns in tamarind broth), Ginataang Sugpo (prawns in coconut milk), Tempura or just the plain Hilabos na Sugpo (steamed prawns).

Thank you Aunt Eling!

Movie Time: Sherlock Holmes

Bf and I don't get to watch any movie in the last quarter of 2009. It was only last Sunday that we had a chance to watch a movie again.

For our movie date, we watched Sherlock Holmes.

Sherlock Holmes based on the fictional character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was played by Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law played the character of Holmes' friend Dr. John Watson. The movie was directed by Guy Ritchie.

The movie is entertaining but just like most of the Hollywood Movies now a day, you know that there will be another installment of the movie because the movie ended with more questions at the end.

Downey's potrayal is really effective, he is really a good actor. He and Jude Law has an excellent rapport on screen.

I haven't read any of the Sherlock Holmes novels but I plan to read it and see for myself if Sherlock Holmes is all that Downey potrayed him to be.

I recommend this movie.

Because it is one of my goals to be more physically fit this year, I'm going to train for the Super Body Run 2010. I hope that a month of running will make me ready for the 3km run.

I'm super excited!

My New Year's Prayer

I subscribe to Bo Sanchez' blog.

Bo Sanchez is a Catholic lay preacher and is one of my favorite inspirational book authors.

In his blog for this week, this is the prayer he wrote and this is the prayer I will make as my new year's prayer:

I declare I’ll have a super-blessed year in 2010! I claim a year of amazing abundance for my life. This year, I shall receive more love and give more love. I shall experience more joy, greater generosity, dreams fulfilled, financial increase, open doors, new opportunities, divine connections, supernatural appointments, great miracles, answered prayers, and exponential growth—Amen!”

Random Updates

While browsing through our holiday pictures, I notice that our dining table is small, it can only hold a few items on top, it can no longer hold extra things like vases and other decors. I envy the elaborate holiday table settings shown on some of the blogs I've visited.

But I'm torn about replacing our current dining table because it was given to us by someone very special with new dining room furniture that will make every occasion looks very festive.

Well, I still have eleven more months to decide whether to give up our current dining furnitures with new ones.

Jumping to another topic, since one of my new year's resolution is to include more exercise into my lifestyle and hopefully to join a marathon, I've been running every morning to keep up with my goal.

But this morning, I have to rest from all the running because I feel pain at the back of lower left leg. Yipes, in just a few days I've already injured myself.

I hope the soreness I feel will be removed so I can run again tomorrow or on Friday in preparation for my running session on Sunday with my boyfriend. We will be running on Sunday at the oval track of the Marikina Sports Complex.

I must be mindful of my stretching routine before and after each run and to remember the proper posture in running so that I can avoid injuring myself.

Failure

Failure doesn't mean you are a failure.
It just means you haven't succeeded yet.
Failure doesn't mean you have
accomplish nothing.
It does mean you have learnt something.
Failure doesn't mean you've been a fool to try
It mean you were brave, you had nerve,
you had courage; be proud of yourself.
Failure doesn't mean you'll never make it.
It does mean it will take longer.
Failure doesn't mean you're finished.
It does mean you have a chance to start all
over again, try something new.
Failure doesn't mean God has abandoned you.
It does mean He has a better idea.
So it is true, failure is never final.

The Burj Khalifa-World's Tallest Tower

The Burj Khalifa, the tallest skyscraper in the world opened last Monday, January 4, 2010. It can be found in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

It was known before as The Burj Dubai or " Dubai Tower," but renamed Burj Khalifa to honor Sheik Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nayan , the ruler of the oil rich neighbor Abu Dhabi who came to the rescue of Dubai last year amidst Dubai's financial crisis.

The building stands 2,717 feet or 828 meters from the dessert. It houses luxury apartments, offices and a hotel designed by Giorgio Armani.

The skyscraper upstaged Taipei 101 with its 1667 feet which is the tallest since 2004 by 1000 feet and the United States' tallest tower which is the Willis Tower which stands at 1,451 feet.

Back To Normal

The long holiday break is over. It's back to normal mode once again.

I'm here in the office right now, taking a few minutes time off from work.

It has been a long and tiring day, there were so many clients to attend to. The only break I was able to get was during lunch time. No coffe break for me today.

I'm happy that all that needs to be done last year here in the office was finished so when I went back to work this morning, it was just like a fresh new start.

Oh well....it's back to work mode again....how many months again till Holy Week? :)

My New Year's Resolution

I don't make new year's resolution! because resolutions, just like promises are broken.

But I'm changing my paradigm from now on, I'm going to make resolutions starting this year.

2009 has been a slow and steady year for me, there was no opportunity for me to grow as a person all throughout the past year. I'm grateful for all the graces I received in 2009 but I believe I could have been more blessed if I had a vision on how I want my year to unfold instead of just being a spectator waiting for things to happen.

I'm writing my resolutions because these are my goals for the year. Things I want to accomplish before the year ends so that when I look back at 2010, I can say that I did all that needs to be done to make it a fruitful year.

My resolutions for 2010 are:

1. I'm going to be fit and healthy. I lead a healthy lifestyle but I know I need to incorporate more exercise into my life. My ultimate goal physically for 2010 is to join a Marathon and for that I need to really train for it.

2.I'm going to find a new job. I really need to change work because I know there's no room for me to grow as a person in the job that I'm in right now. I do hope I get to find an online job.

3.I'm going to invest more in my mutual funds and I'm going to really study how to invest in the stock market. I want to earn more passively this year. I want to have financial breakthroughs in 2010 so I can now start saving for my own house and my own car with Motor Trade Insurance.

These are some of the things I want to accomplish in 2010 and hopefully when the year ends I get to happily blog here that I was able to make these goals into reality.

Ryo's Christening

A day after Christmas, our family ( in my mom's side ) celebrated the wedding of my cousin, after that, on January 1, 2010 on the first day of the year we celebrated and welcome into the Christian Faith, my dear godson Ryo.

The last two weeks has all been about family celebrations and I couldn't be more happier. I got to bond with my relatives from both sides of the family. If on the eve of New Year I have my relatives on my father's side celebrating new year with us, on the day of the new year itself I was with my relatives on my mother's side for the Christening.

My nephew Ryo was baptized on January 1 at Christ the King Church in Project 7, Quezon City; in the same church where his parents received the sacrament of Marriage a week earlier on December 26, 2009.

During the baptism, we the godparents were reminded of our role in our godson's life. Being his godparents we are his second parents, our responsibility is not limited to giving gifts on special occasions of his life but co-helper of his parents in bringing him up to be a god-fearing, loving and responsible individual.

To Ryo, my godson, welcome to the Christian World!

Below are some of the pictures at the Baptism..........

New Year 2010

If last Christmas it was only my father, my brothers and I who celebrated this special day, New Year's Eve celebration was far more fun because my aunt (my father's sister ), her husband and her kids were with us to celebrate this occasion.

December 31, 2009, the last day of the year was a very busy day for the whole household, since the New Year's Eve celebration was at our place, my father (being the good cook that he is) was in charge of cooking our food and my siblings and I have to help him out in chopping the vegetables and other food preparations.

I'm proud to say that in our New Year's menu I made the carbonara and the graham's refrigerator cake which in my own assessment were delicious ( of course, you have to love your own right? ).

There were a lot of food on the table and the leftovers were divided among our family, my aunt's family and for my lolo's (grandfather).

We are grateful that despite all the trials we have to endure in 2009, we were all able to overcome all of it victoriously and we have a complete, healthy and happy family welcoming in 2010.

A Prosperous New Year To All

It's the first day of the new year!

I pray that this new year will be a better year for all of us. It is my wish that we will be prosperous, be blessed, be joyful and be healthy throughout 2010!

As I attended the Holy Mass this morning, this was what was read during the first reading and let this be my prayer for you and your loved ones........

The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face to shine upon
you and be gracious to you;
the Lord lift up his countenance upon
you and give you peace.

-Numbers 6:24-26

Have a blessed and prosperous New Year!
