On School Lockers
Most of the elementary students carry heavy bags loaded with books, notebooks and other school materials.
I pity the small kids carrying heavy loads to school that I wonder if they don’t have school cabinets or lockers where they can leave some school materials that will not be needed for homework.
I remembered that in the school where I attended elementary, we have school cabinets or Wood Lockers where we can leave our work books that we don’t have assignments on. Students in higher grade level where given the privilege of renting their own School Lockers where they can have a personal storage space to leave their belongings.
I share my Locker with another classmate so that if I ever forget to bring the key of our locker I can still open it because my classmate will have a spare key. It’s just funny because most of the time the students have the tendency to misplace their locker keys so the school janitor is busy dismantling the padlocks on the lockers.
Oh well, it’s just something that I remembered while going to work this morning. :)
On TV
When I left for work, the segment about the jewelry shop is still not shown. I hope they upload the video later in facebook or in youtube so I can watch it.

Shoe Shopping

Another work week is about to end.
But I can’t wait for five in the afternoon to come. After work, I’m heading to the mall for shoe shopping.
While eating breakfast, my father asked me what I wanted for my birthday which is still three weeks from now and I told him I want a new pair of flat shoes.
Because the shoes were on sale and I’m not sure if it will be on sale still after three weeks, I asked him if he could give the money to me so I can buy it already and of course my papa readily agreed.
I’m so happy because I'm going to get the new pair of shoes I’ve been eyeing since last week.
Thank you, Papa!

Someone Tried To Sneak In
Bf called me last night and told me someone tried to forcibly open his surplus shop last Tuesday night.
His neighbors told him that around 11:30 pm, they saw five men roaming around the vicinity of the shop.
Bf stays at the shop because their house in Antipolo City is far from his place of work. There is a room at the far end of the shop that serves as his living quarters. He said he heard some noise that night but due to exhaustion, he dismissed the commotion.
I feared for his safety because what if those five men where able to enter the shop, they could have hurt him.
He told me that additional locks have been installed at the shop. And that matter has been reported to the proper authorities.
I am just grateful that nothing bad happened to him and I pray that no similar incident will happen in the near future.

A Dollar Gift From Paypal
When I checked my email this morning, I got a message from paypal informing me that they are already in the process of transferring into my account the dollar I got from their promo last December.
All I did for paypal is to sign up at their paypal wish list and I earned a dollar already. I could have earned more if I was able to sign up my friends who are facebook users to join the wish list too. Every friend who signed up the paypal wish list will earn me a dollar.
I know that it is not a big amount but still a dollar is a dollar and the task I did for them wasn’t that difficult.
Thank you paypal! I hope to hear more promos from you!
Happy For Bf
The last quarter of 2009 has been difficult for my bf (boyfriend).
When Typhoon Ondoy ravaged the country in September his surplus shop which is located in Marikina (one of the hardest hit areas) was submerged in flood water and many of the items on sale were destroyed.
While he was in the process of rebuilding his business, the owner of the place he was renting for his shop sold the land to another person without informing his tenants. Bf was only given a week to transfer to another location.
It was a good thing that there was a place a few meters from the shop’s former location that was available for rent only a few days before the deadline.
Stressed from the business transfer and the loss in profit because of the flood, he became very sick. The doctors’ initial diagnosis was leptospirosis because during the height of Typhoon Ondoy, he waded in the flood water to salvage his motorcycle that was swept away by the flood water.
I was so grateful when his laboratory results came out and indicated that it was not leptospirosis but viral infection.
The first month of 2010 has been kind to him. Yesterday, he excitedly told me that his business is really picking up. He was able to recover from his business losses last year and he has regular customers visiting his shop already.
I am so happy for him, I pray that 2010 will truly be a fruitful year for him!

Going Online
Yesterday afternoon, my boyfriend and I placed some ads on a free online advertisement site. We featured some of the items for sale at his surplus shop in Marikina. A few hours after putting up the ads, our phone started ringing with calls from clients inquiring about the advertisements. I'm just amused because they called up our house when in the ads I gave boyfriend's shop location and contact numbers. I have to check those ads again so that all the calls will be directed to the shop. I'm just happy because through that site, my boyfriend was able to close a deal already. I told my boyfriend that the simple ad on the internet produces a sale for his shop.If we could put up our own website for the shop we could attract more clients. I'm thinking of putting a website that shows the items on sale at his shop, their is an online survey that will help us know the clients preferences and we could send out an email newsletter to the customers to keep them up to date with all the items on sale. With all my plans for the website and its emarketing side, I know I can rely on the services of iContact. iContact can provide me with the necessary email marketing software, newsletter software and online survey tool for the website. iContact is perfect for small business like that of my boyfriend's because of its affordability. I'm so excited putting a new website for my boyfriend's surplus shop! |
My Sunday
I was beginning to feel disappointed that it started to rain because I don’t want to go home yet if the rain continues to fall but I realized we needed the rain since the La Mesa Dam is running short of water.
While waiting for the rain to stop, I amused myself by watching the badminton players still playing in the court despite the rain.
Fortunately in a few minutes, the rain halted so I was back on track once again. It feels good to be running and sweating off the excess fat. To cool myself down after the extensive running I did, I walked around the park, observing the scenery and the people.
When I got home, my siblings were still eating their breakfast, when they inquire where I have been, they said they wanted to join me next week at the Quezon Memorial Circle for exercise. Let’s see if they can wake up early on a Sunday morning. :)
While my brothers were preparing our lunch and waiting for my boyfriend to arrive, I posted some ads for my boyfriend’s shop and checked my emails.
When my boyfriend arrived we went to supermarket for grocery shopping.
Lunch was really yummy! We had grilled pork belly and ensaladang talong. What makes Sunday lunch extra special is the family is complete and boyfriend is with us.
Right after clearing the table, boyfriend and I made Spaghetti for our afternoon snack. It was really delicious and meaty.
The rest of the afternoon was spent watching dvd at home, chatting with loved ones, having bonding moments with the special people I love.
And that is why I love Sundays! How was your Sunday?

Help Haiti Victims, Donate Thru Paypal
Since yesterday I've been surfing the internet looking for ways to help the victims of the Haiti earthquake.
I was looking for a legitimate organization to donate to using my paypal account.
Good thing though that I was led to the paypal community where I found an easy way to help the victims specially the children.
Paypal is partnering with the Save the Children charity to raise money for the people affected by the disaster.
Save the Children charity has been working in Haiti since 1985.
So please if you have a paypal account, click this link to Save the Children's Haiti Emergency Fund and make a donation to help the Haiti people.
Prizes Galore
The first contest I've joined is at Coke Zero resolution which I've entered via Facebook. All I did is to write down in that site my new year's resolution. The prizes for this contest is an Ipod Nano and running kits. This running kits is helpful to me because I plan to run in a marathon this year.
Then yesterday morning, Liza left an invite for me to join the contest at her site which she is sponsoring. All I did to be part of the raffle is to comment on her post, link her blog and be a follower of her site, that simple. To join Liza's contest just click her link in my blog roll.
Those where the contest where I'm hoping to win.

Online Math Help
I wish that online math help like that provided by tutor vista was already available during my time; perhaps I would not have any trouble passing my math subjects. With online math help I can have an online math tutoring at the convenience of my own home at any time I want. How convenient could that be and I am assured that I get personal tutoring from the experts.
Online math help is available from grade school, high school all the way to college. College math tutoring is available to help students in their calculus, algebra, trigonometry and other subjects.
Before you take any online math tutoring you can avail first of the free online math tutoring and see if their program is suited for you. You may try the free online tutoring anytime and try having a free online math tutor.
If an online math tutoring is available for students than students don’t need to have a difficult time with there math they could even ace their math subjects too.
Yummy Sugpo Prawns
I came home yesterday to a pleasant surprise! We had sugpo for dinner. Yum!These big prawns came from my Aunt Eling who dropped by our house yesterday. It just sad that our family wasn’t around to thank her for her delicious present because my dad was at the hospital for his check-up and my sibling and I were at work. But I get to express my gratitude to her through the phone.
My aunt told me that if they had a bigger container she would have wanted to bring tilapia (St. Peter’s Fish) too. My aunt who’s based in Pampanga has ponds that culture sugpo and tilapia.
We have sugpo that will last for days! And I wouldn’t mind. I haven’t checked how much a kilo this kind of prawn cost but I know that it’s pricey!
I’m looking forward to all the appetizing dishes my father will prepare from these sugpo; I’m thinking of Siningang na Sugpo (prawns in tamarind broth), Ginataang Sugpo (prawns in coconut milk), Tempura or just the plain Hilabos na Sugpo (steamed prawns).
Thank you Aunt Eling!

Movie Time: Sherlock Holmes
For our movie date, we watched Sherlock Holmes.
Sherlock Holmes based on the fictional character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was played by Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law played the character of Holmes' friend Dr. John Watson. The movie was directed by Guy Ritchie.
The movie is entertaining but just like most of the Hollywood Movies now a day, you know that there will be another installment of the movie because the movie ended with more questions at the end.
Downey's potrayal is really effective, he is really a good actor. He and Jude Law has an excellent rapport on screen.
I haven't read any of the Sherlock Holmes novels but I plan to read it and see for myself if Sherlock Holmes is all that Downey potrayed him to be.
I recommend this movie.

Back To Normal
The long holiday break is over. It's back to normal mode once again.
I'm here in the office right now, taking a few minutes time off from work.
It has been a long and tiring day, there were so many clients to attend to. The only break I was able to get was during lunch time. No coffe break for me today.
I'm happy that all that needs to be done last year here in the office was finished so when I went back to work this morning, it was just like a fresh new start.
Oh well....it's back to work mode again....how many months again till Holy Week? :)
