Dinner Time
At the end of a busy workday, I always looked forward to a wonderful meal served at our house during dinnertime. Dinner at our house would always be a vegetable dish and a serving of fish. But even if the meal is that simple I enjoy eating at home.
I love dinnertime because everyone in the family is present at the dinner table; meals are eaten slowly, which is very different compared to eating breakfast where everyone has to take it hurriedly. Dinner is the chance for us, family members to exchange stories, to express opinions on certain topics, to tease one another and to make important decision as a family in between chewing food. Dinner would last for at least forty minutes not because there are so many things to eat but because there are so many things to say, no one would like to stand up and leave right away.
Around the dinner table, the warmth of love of my father and siblings envelops me and nothing can beat that; I feel recharged after a long and tiring day.
I know that there will come a time when either of my siblings or even I have to leave home and start having a family of our own, so I cherish this chance to be with them while I still can.

Ten Random Things About Me
I have been tagged by Rhia.
The rules are:
1. Each blogger starts with ten random facts/habits about themselves.
2. Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their ten things and post these rules.
3. At the end of your blog, you need to choose 10 people to get tagged and list the ten random things about themselves.
Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
Here are the ten random things about me:
1.I love to sing. I was part of an all female choir group two years ago.
2.I am a licensed teacher, but I don’t practice my profession. I am currently working as a
medical technologist.
3. I am the eldest child and I have two brothers after me.
4.I am the only girl now in my family, ever since my mom passed away twelve years ago. I live
in a company of boys.
5.I am super close to my father and to my two siblings
6.I enjoy doing the grocery and going to the “wet market,” to get our weekly supply of food.
7.I’m a homebody. I prefer to stay at home to read a book, watch television, surf the internet
or to clean or organize things at home.
8.I live in Quezon City and my boyfriend lives in Marikina, but we prefer to go to Market!
Market! in Taguig for malling. Wala lang enjoy lang kami doon. He used to live in Taguig
before their family transferred to Marikina.
9.I want to learn how the stock market works. I read in a magazine that you can do trading
with the PSE with just P5,000.
10. I do our budget at home and I’m good at it. They (father and brothers) would tease me
that I'm stingy, but the truth is I'm just wise in handling our finances. I was able to create
a savings account outof the money we were able to save from our budget. This December,
I'm going to get some of it for house renovation and re-painting

Kore wa watashi no blog desu ( This is my blog )
It has been days since I got hold of my book on basic Japanese. I have been busy lately, I don’t have the time to open my book and learn something new.The last words added to my Japanese vocabulary, were the ones Boyet said to me last Sunday. They were: “Itadakimasu,” which you have to say aloud before you eat your food. This is said in homes or in restaurants or anywhere whenever food is offered by someone else.It is an expression of gratefulness. It is impolite to eat without uttering it. The next word was “Tadaima” which means,” I’m back” when you have reached your home or your place of destination. And one must answer.”Tadaima” with “Okaeri nasai” or simply “okaeri”.which means” welcome back.”
I wish my book were with me right now. I usually bring it with me so that if I’m stuck in the traffic on my way home or I have extra time during lunch breaks at work, I can browse through it or read a lesson or two on grammar. But sadly, I don’t have it with me. I left it on my desk inside my room.
I remembered that book because I saw the tag for Issa in her blog. The title of the post was “Onamae wa nan to desu ka,”which means, “What is your name?” It reminded me that I’m supposed to study my Japanese, the reason for that was written in my post entitled “My Cooking, Nihongo and my Sunday Date.”
Below was the tagged for Issa.
For the instructions, add your name on the list and simply spell out your name using the given Japanese letter- translations below. Tag six of your friends and inform them of the tag. Have fun.

Onamae wa nan to desu ka ? What is your name in Japanese, dear reader?
As to the accurateness of this letter translation, I still have to ask Boyet’s sister on this. She speaks and writes Japanese. When I saw her last week she was talking to me in Japanese already and I can’t understand anything she said. I really have to go back to my studying.

Office Blooper
This morning my officemate showed me our office’s water bill for the month.
He got alarmed because it was way too much than what we usually pay. We thought there has been another mistake with the water’s meter reading just like what happened last year. The Maynilad was charging us back then with a very huge amount as if we have a swimming pool inside our office. We complained it to them and they found out that their employee have switched our water meter reading with that of another office.
I immediately called their service hotline to complain about the exorbitant amount
I was even demanding that they sent someone already to our office to check the water meter, there could be another mistake like what happened last year, since we always paid the same amount month after month. If there is a price hike on the water it could not cost as much as what is stated in the water bill. Then the person on the other line asked me to dictate our contract number which I did. He said that according to their records, the amount on the water bill I had is consistent with what we have been paying for the past month and the month before.
Then it occurred to me why I haven’t check yet the bill handed to us last month. I searched for the previous one, there I realized this bill I presently have a different contract number than the old one. Ha,ha, ha, what has been handed to us is not our water bill. The bill had the name of the owner of the place we are renting but has a different contract number. I have forgotten that the neighboring building also belongs to him. Hay, buhay! Panikera kasi eh.
Oh well, at least me and my officemate had a good laugh after realizing our foolish mistake.

A Work In Progress
This blog started in 2004, and since then I have just posted 24 entries. This month I’m resuscitating my dying blog. I lost my interest in blogging ( but never in bloghopping, I enjoy reading the entries of fellow bloggers ) because I don’t have the time back then to learn how to add the links, put pictures and place a tagboard at the sidebar. But as you can see, my blog is now improving. I already have created links and I have a cbox already. I’m into blogging again and more excited than ever to meet friends through blogs.
To all the visitors of my blog, don’t forget to add me to your links and just leave a message in the cbox so I can add you to my blogroll.
Have a pleasant day and God bless.

Twelve years ago, on this date at one in the afternoon, my mother went on to the next life and is with the Lord.
I can’t believe, I’m writing a post about this day. Maybe, it is because I have found peace and acceptance that she is no longer with us or perhaps I needed to write something about it to comfort me on this day.
As I sit here staring on the monitor, I try to understand what it is that I’m exactly feeling at this moment.
I am not really sad neither am I happy.
It is a mix up of many emotions.
And it is up to me to decide which among these emotions I must choose.
But as I choose among these emotions, am I just fooling myself, denying what my true feeling is or am I just giving myself the empowerment to decide how am I going to spend my day; happy or sad, heartbroken or inspired, cursed or blessed.
Forgive me for blabbering.
This day used to be painful but it ceased to be today.
I am peace with the thought that my mom is already with her Creator and she is in a perfect state of happiness.
I am grateful that God has given me a mother like my mom because she was simply the best.
I am thankful because even if I had my mama for only seventeen years , I have shown her how much I love her. I don’t have any regret, that I should have done this or should have done that for her because I can’t think of any word left unsaid or any act of love not shown between us. I know she knew that I love her dearly and she loves me so much no word/s can describe it.

On cooking, Nihongo and my Sunday date
My cooking skill is improving.Yehey! Every time, my father leaves for Bataan for some rest and relaxation, the task of cooking becomes my chore; it gives me the chance to cook for my brothers and they don’t have any choice but to eat it. But then, they don’t really have to suffer my cooking because so far everything I have been preparing for them taste good and they are not complaining. For Saturday, we had Chicken a la King and for Sunday, we had Spaghetti. And for next weekend, (I have been browsing through cookbooks ) we’ll have Beef Indian Curry and Homemade Burger Steak. I can’t wait for my next experiment.
I have been learning a lot of Nihongo phrases and I had a chance to practice these words with Boyet over the weekend. I bought a book last week on Basic Japanese and the book has been a great help to me. It has allowed me to learn how to construct and translate simple Japanese sentences. This studying, is in preparation for my formal Nihongo classes I’m about to take with Boyet (when he already have the time for it, he has been busy these past few weeks.)
Why am I studying Nihongo? Well, I’ve always wanted to learn how to speak another language and I’ve been fascinated by the culture of the Japanese. Another reason is I want to help Boyet and be his partner in practicing Nihongo. Boyet’s sister wants him to learn Nihongo since their family business does a lot of transactions with Japanese.
Boyet and I went to Market!Market! in Taguig last Sunday to watch “Iron Man.” We both enjoyed the movie and we can’t wait for the sequel. Astig si Tony Stark ! I hope those who already watched the movie waited until the ending of the closing credit to see the scene of Robert Downey Jr with Samuel Jackson, hinting that there is a sequel of the movie.
Wow, the movie trailers excite the movie addict in me. I am looking forward to the following movies: Indiana Jones, Journey to the Center of the Earth ( with Brandon Fraser, my crush ), Narnia’s Prince Caspian, Hell Boy 2 and I forgot the title of the cartoon about the Panda who does Kung Fu.
After the movie, we went around Market!Market! to scout for a pair of pants for me. Then we had to leave at around 6:30 pm because we had to close the shop at Marikina.
Ogenki desu ka?” “ Genki desu.”
“How are you.” “I’m fine.”
