I feel really tired today. I only had three hours of sleep due to the power interruption in our area which lasted for six hours yesterday.
The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) had to shut down the transformer at the Taytay, Rizal substation due to the fire. According to the statement of Meralco the rotating blackouts which lasted for three to four hours happened “ due to critical loading and its attempt to shift load,” brought about by the closing of the substation of the National Grid. Corporation of the Philippines.
The power failure also affected the normal operation of the EDSA bound Metro Rail Transit for an hour.
I wanted to whine about my lack of sleep but reading the news this morning made me realize that several towns in Marikina specifically Nangka, Sto. Nino, Malanday and Industrial Valley as well as Cainta do not have electricity since Typhoon Ondoy. I only had to suffer the discomfort of no electric power for few hours compared to those who have been living in Marikina and Cainta.
The blackouts halted the relief and rehabilitation efforts in Marikina, Pasig and Cainta.
I hope the transformers as well as the cables will be fix soon so that I can have a good night sleep tonight and those without electricity for several days will be serviced by Meralco already.

tsk tsk tsk ang hirap pa naman kapag walang ilaw especially if it would happen at night, more if you have a baby on your side, I experienced it myself and I thought to go out wiht my baby in the middle of the night just to have some fresh air.
Hay! Grabe na talaga! Tapos ipapasa sa consumer ang expense para palitan ang transformer ng bago.
