Our Valentine's Day Celebration

My boyfriend and I don't go out on a date on Valentine's Day simply because we want to avoid the crowd who are on dates on that special day.

But we see to it that we see each other on Valentine's Day and celebrate it either by having lunch or dinner with my family.

My brother and his girlfriend also celebrated Valentine's Day with us this year.

For dinner we have roasted chicken from Chooks To Go, shark's fin and beef siomai from Red Ninja and special lumpia from Lei's Lumpia and we have heart shaped chocolates for dessert.

Every one enjoyed their dinner and had a great Valentine's Day!

My Valentine

My boyfriend is not the romantic type of guy. He is not one who loves writing love letters or cards or sending flowers or chocolates. He is not one who texts you with sweet-mushy messages or plan on extra sweet dates and out of town trips.

But when it's Valentine's Day, he sets aside his not being romantic and sees to it that I have flowers on that special day; it's a tradition he has kept for years.

Every year, I'm excited to find out what type of flowers or color of flowers he's going to choose for me. I'm not really particular about the flower even if it's baby's breath I'll take it because the most important thing is that he remembered that I would really appreciate it if he gives me flowers on Valentine's Day! I would not ask for chocolates or dinner or any other gift, flowers will do.

On our first Valentine's Day, he gave me a dozen of peach roses; the following year he gave Malaysian mums in various colors; last year it was carnations and Malaysian mums and this year it's three white roses.

He was apologetic when he handed the flowers to me because he doesn't have much of a choice in selecting what flowers to gave me because the flower shop in Marikina where he always bought my flowers had run out of flowers. It was almost seven in the evening when he got to the flower shop because he had been swamped with work the whole day.

Thank you Hun!

Love

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Valentine's Day is not only for those with special someone but it should be a day of celebrating love; love not only for our significant others but love for all the people we have in our lives.

There has been a lot of things said about love but for me the finest definition of love is found in the Bible in the first letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians and it says:

Love is patient and kind.
Love is not jealous, it does not brag,
and is not proud.
Love is not rude, is not selfish, and
does not get upset with others.
Love does not count up the wrong done.
Love is not happy with evil
but is happy with the truth.
Love patiently awaits all things.
It always trusts, always hopes, and always
remain strong.
Love never ends.

The Azkals Prevailed Over the Blue Wolves!

The Philippine Azkals won against the Mongolian Blue Wolves (2-0) in soccer match held at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City last February 9, 2011.

It was my first time to watch a football game so I have to ask my brothers who are big football fans about the rules of the game. I know a lot of Filipinos do not know much about football because the Philippines is a basketball crazy nation.

Our whole family watched the games and we were screaming at the top of our lungs and clapping our hands the whole time specially when Emelio "Chieffy" Caligdong scored into the 42 minute of the game and at the score Phil Younghusband made at the last play of the game.

I really feel proud about the Philippine Azkals and I'm happy that this sport is getting some attention now in the country.

Football is a sport that Filipinos can really excel in compared to basketball. We cannot really compete in the international basketball competition because of the height limitations of Filipinos, something that is not required in football.

I hope the next game of the Azkals will be held in Manila so I can watch it live.

Concert Tickets

Taylor Swift is having a concert here in Manila this February!

I know that a lot of Filipinos are looking forward to watching this concert from a huge international star.

But I have read in the papers that a lot of Taylor Swift's fan are complaining because there's some kind of confusion with regards to buying tickets specially the online ticket reservation. People securing tickets through the internet cannot access the site selling tickets. Filipinos living in countries near the Philippines wants to come over to Manila just to watch Taylor Swift but are hesitant to continue with their plans because they cannot get the tickets online. Some sources say that as early as December last year the tickets were already sold out. I really hope these big Taylor Swift fans will get to have their dream concert tickets.
