Happy Holidays!

It has been a long, tiring, stressful week. There so much to do and so little time to accomplish everything but I was able to pull it through. All my godchildren's gifts and presents for loved ones are all wrapped under the Christmas tree. The Holiday Menu has been selected and the ingredients were already bought. The only thing left undone is the last minute house cleaning.

I'm so looking forward to the four day non working days! Even if my family is just staying here in the Metro unlike the rest of the country who are on their way to the province to celebrate with loved ones the important thing is our family is complete and happy. My body really needs to recuperate from the stress (and my wallet needs to rest also because it's severely depleted from all the gifts I have to buy. :) ) I badly need sleep and some time for relaxation. I missed watching television, checking the internet for the latest casino online games and bonding with family and friends.

But after all the external preparations that we all do for Christmas, let us not forget the real reason for the celebration which is the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Let us remember to prepare also our hearts for His coming so that He has a place in our lives.

A Blessed and Merry Christmas to everyone!

Not Going To Med School

My father called me up at my office this morning to ask if I have the information needed for the National Medical Aptitude Test or NMAT since my aunt wanted to know if I needed the money for the exam.

The NMAT is one of the requirements of medical schools if you want to enrol in their medical programs.

The question came as a surprised because I thought my aunt was no longer interested in sending me to medical school as much as she wanted last July because she haven't mentioned it since then.

When I was a little girl all I wanted was to become a physician like my aunt and that was the reason I enrolled in a pre medical course - Medical Technology.

When my mom died and my father was the only one left to raise me and my two siblings, I knew it would be hard on my father to send me to a medical school.

Despite that financial set-back I still pursued my pre-med course, took an NMAT exam and wrote letters to people who might financially help me with my medical studies. No one responded to that financially support.

My aunt, wasn't able to send me to medical school back then because she has three daughters who are going to medical school as well.

Now, eleven years after I graduated from my pre med course, two of my aunt's children have completed their medical studies. My aunt is now ready and is able to sent me to school.

But the problem is, I don't have the desire to study medicine anymore.

Even if I'm 31 years old already, age is not an issue for me to go back to school. Call me a geek but I love school. I was 25 years old when I went back to college to pursue a degree in education and my classmates at that time were only 17 and 18.

My passion for becoming a doctor has died over the years.

But even if the offer of my aunt came late, I'm still grateful that she still offered to send me to school because she doesn't need to. My aunt is really a generous woman that in a way I feel guilty that I'm turning down her offer.

Oh well, I told my father that I'm no longer keen on going back to school at the moment. But who knows, a series of events may unfold that might lead me to study medicine.

God's Love

The priest asked " Anong pipiliin ninyo, kayo ang nagmamahal o kayo ang minamahal?" A lot of people answered " na siya ang minamahal." And the priest said "mga insekyur," and the whole congregation laugh. The answer wasn't a surprise because we fear that our love wouldn't be reciprocated. We all longed to be loved and to be taken care for. :) If we are looking for the love that last , let us remember that God loves us so much because "He loved us first (1 John 4:19)."

Online Transactions

With the advancement of modern technology, most people now a days go with online transaction. Online transaction facilitates payment of bills, transfer of funds and even work related processes.

Online transaction is fast, convenient and time saving procedure. People need not go to the bank to transfer money from one account to another, they can do it at the comfort of their homes or in any place as long as there is an internet connection. Bank transactions can be done in a matter of minutes thus saving on time and fare.

But we have to be aware of the dangers we might encounter while making use of online transanction like identity theft. There are criminals in the net that makes use of the personal information of other people to take funds out of the financial account of other people or use the credit card of other people to pay for expensive online purchases.

Victims of identity theft suffers not only from the financial losses but also the lost of their good name. It will take some time for the victims to pay off the debt incured by the identity theft as well as the restoring of their reputation.

Consumers need not fret about identity theft because there are some measures one can do to protect one self from identity theft like making use of the services of IdentityHawk.com. IdentityHawk.com offers an array of services to provide identity theft protection to its clients. The company helps their clients identify the areas they are at most risk every time they do online transactions and at the same time set up procedures to prevent identity theft.

So before you do another online transaction be sure that you have identity theft protection.

Restoration - Kerygma 2010

The Kerygma Conference is an annual Catholic learning event led by lay preacher Bo Sanchez.

This year's theme is "Restoration." We all need to be restored, to be inspired and to be blessed. Unlike last year which I also attended where there's only one venue, this year there's different streams happening at the various hall of the PICC. Participants can choose which streams they would like to attend: Marriage, Singles, Youth, Faith, Inner, Single Parents and Happy Celebates.

I was supposed to attend the Faith Restoration streams but the tickets were all sold out already so I choose Inner Restoration instead.

I am so blessed to have attended this stream because I learned a lot of things about healing. Healing is not only physical but there should be healing of the soul and spirit as well. The topic that were discussed were: Healing of the Mind, Soulution: Spiritual Deliverence, The Family Free: Generational Healing and Buddy Body: Physical Healing.

The speakers at the Inner Restoration stream were inspiring and there was a powerful worship session at the end of the conference. I left the event feeling blessed, inspired and restored.

I am looking forward for next year's Kerygma Conference.
