Did you know that getting enough sleep at night can help you lose or maintain your ideal weight?
A study done by doctors of Norfolk Medical Center, Norfolk, Virginia on nine hundred twenty four male and female subjects revealed that people within the ideal weight range sleep an extra fifteen minutes at night than their overweight counterpart.
While experts in New York said that people who sleep for just five hours every night is fifty percent more likely to be obese or overweight compared to those who sleep an extra hour of sleep which is twenty three percent more likely to be obese or overweight.
Researchers believed that septin, a hormone associated with suppressing our appetite for food increases in level when we get enough or extra sleep and decreases the secretion of ghrelin, a hormone associated with stimulating our appetite.
When we are sleep deprived, we are most likely to over eat because of the increase in the level of ghrelin in our blood that stimulates our appetite to eat and the decrease of septin in our blood level.
And that’s another reason to catch up on our precious sleep at night.

An Inspiring Story
I heard this story from Bo Sanchez last Sunday while watching Kerygma TV.
I hope it inspires us to dream and be bold and make our dreams happen.
Sylvester Stallone at a young age already dreamed of becoming an actor but he was always turned down by film directors, producers and casting agents because of his slurred speech.
Determined to follow his dreams, he met a producer and begged for a role in one of the movies the producer is making. Sylvester would be the first person the producer would see in his office first thing in the morning and the last person he would see at the end of the day, and because of this persistence, the producer gave him a small role in a film.
But after that small acting stint, no other movie offers followed.
Undeterred and committed to make his dream of becoming an actor, he wrote a script tailored made for him.
Sylvester approached several producers but no one was interested in his screenplay until he met one producer who was willing to pay him seventy-five thousand dollars for the script. He had to turn it down because he will not be actor in the film.
A few days after, the same producer visited him at home buying the script for two hundred fifty thousand dollars but still with the condition that he will not have to star in the said movie. Sylvester did not sell the script.
The producer bargained with Sylvester until it reached one million dollars. But again he had to turn it down because he will not be the actor in the movie. And this happened when he really needed the money. He was cash strapped at the time; he had to sell his dog for fifty dollars just to have money.
Finally, the producer agreed that he will star in the film but would only pay thirty five thousand dollars for the screenplay and Sylvester agreed.
That movie was Rocky. It made big in the box office and earned ten academy award nominations including best picture and best actor.

Updating
Hi! I’m updating my links. I’m removing the blogs that do no longer exist; their owners may have deleted it or have changed address without informing me. If you’re one of them please leave me a message on my cbox so I can update your url and add you again in my blogroll. Thanks.
For days now, I would like to post a new entry here in my blog. But every time, I’m about to write a post, I just couldn’t think of a topic to start an article about.
So as you can see, all I have in my blog are just tags.
Don’t get me wrong. I love these tags and I appreciate those people who passed them on to me. It made me feel special.
But I really like to write about something that will update my readers with what’s going on in my life or something that will inspire or something that they will learn from.
I feel bless every time I bloghop to other sites; their stories inspire me to become a better person, or their posts are about tips that I can apply to my daily life. I feel happy on their stories about their successes in life, and I feel sad every time, I read a post about their mishaps in life.
I want to be able to write and to share those kinds of experiences.
But for the meantime I have to seek my inspiration first, pardon the lack of a decent post just for now.

I'm Stressed Out
Since last Monday, I’m already suffering from back pain. I guess the pain was triggered by work related stress.
So last night, I borrowed my father’s foot massager, stand on it and put the setting on high, the vibration was so strong that I can feel my entire back being massage as well. Right after the massage, I rubbed some Katinko ointment on my back, and the heat of the ointment soothes the pain on my back and I went to dreamland immediately.
I woke up with no back pain.
The stress was brought about by the new program we have to use at work. I and actually all of my colleagues at work and from other health facilities have to use the new program ordered by the Department of Health.
The program installation is so confusing. Every time I call the hotline of the Department of Health for queries I have regarding it, I have a hard time getting through the busy lines and the answers I get from them when I applied it to the program do not solve the problem. My work mates have to learn everything through the trial and error approach.
The results were some times fruitful and disastrous for others because some of the data were lost in the process.
I need to be connected to the internet to use this program and that adds trouble to me because our globe connection at the office is having problems, I don’t have internet connections after lunch. Grrrrrr…… And if our internet is working well, the server of the Department of Health would be down.
My supervisor is giving added pressure to me because he wants the program to be running smoothly by Monday next week.
I want my branch to be one of the first few branches of our company to be using this program but there are circumstances beyond my control. I cannot control the services of globe, the server of the Department of Health and the personnel of the MIS department of this agency to help me understand the flow of the program.
I will stop pressuring myself because my health is already affected. I will just do my best to make this program work. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that all will end well.
